The National Agency For Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC in Bauchi has started a three day exercise in various markets to recover fake Milo chocolate drinks in the state.
This was revealed by the State Coordinator of NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Kamai on Wednesday in Bauchi.
“The NAFDAC office began the inspections in markets and superstores to get rid of the fake Milo in circulation following a directive from the Headquarters.
“This exercise will last for three days starting Tuesday,” he said.
Dr. Kamai also revealed that the agency has drawn a schedule within the week to address the leadership of the Agro chemical dealers on the threats of chemicals on foods and beverages.
“In Bauchi, we will engage the dealers of Agro chemicals against the use of Dictholoruvis and Paraquat chemicals to store food as we approach the harvest period.
“These are dangerous chemicals that have been banned over time,” he added.
The coordinator also urged balers and packaged water dealers to renew their licenses within the stipulated year, and warned that failure to do so will attract penalties.
