Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, recently expressed his disappointment after meeting with Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate. The encounter took place in Benin, Edo State, where Obi was supporting the Labour Party’s gubernatorial candidate, Olumide Akpata, while Portable was in town for a show.
In a viral video, Portable was seen bowing and exchanging pleasantries with Obi. However, the singer later lamented that Obi did not offer him any money during their meeting. Speaking in Yoruba, Portable compared Obi unfavorably to President Bola Tinubu, suggesting that Tinubu would have been more generous. “Obi cannot give us anything. Obi didn’t give us anything. If it was Tinubu we met, he would have given us something,” Portable said.
Portable, who gained fame with his hit single ‘Zazoo Zeh’ in December 2021, has been known for his controversial statements and actions. This latest incident adds to his list of public outbursts and altercations.
