In a remarkable display of philanthropy, the Salman Shagaya Foundation has disbursed ₦50 million to 1,000 beneficiaries in its latest Cash Relief Empowerment program.
Led by Chairman Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya, the foundation’s initiative aims to alleviate poverty and support vulnerable individuals in Kwara State, complementing the government’s poverty alleviation efforts.
The event, which took place in Ilorin, drew attendance from traditional leaders, party stalwarts, and religious clerics, who praised Alhaji Shagaya’s commitment to charitable work.
Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin and Alhaji Isiaka Ishola were among the dignitaries who commended Alhaji Shagaya’s dedication to empowering the less privileged.
In his remarks, Alhaji Sheriff Shagaya emphasized his passion for elevating Kwara State on the global stage.
“We are committed to supporting the government’s efforts to reduce poverty and improve the lives of our people,” Alhaji Shagaya said.
Sheikh Umar Faruq Sohibul Bayan, in his sermon, urged others to emulate Alhaji Shagaya’s kindness, highlighting the importance of goodness and charity.
Honourable Muktar Tolani Shagaya offered prayers for Alhaji Shagaya, wishing him continued blessings from Almighty Allah.
The Salman Shagaya Foundation has consistently demonstrated its commitment to philanthropy through various initiatives, including quarterly empowerment programs that have benefited over 300 individuals, mostly aged women, with over ₦30 million spent since 2015.
The foundation’s multimillion-naira burn center facility has received national recognition, and plans are underway for a new international project aimed at further showcasing Kwara State’s potential.
