Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has unveiled a new N73,000 minimum wage for state workers, surpassing the federal government’s approved N70,000. The announcement was made during the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial campaign flag-off in Ondo City, as part of the lead-up to the November 16 election.
Addressing supporters, Governor Aiyedatiwa urged them to transform their support into votes for the APC to ensure the continuation of the state’s development projects. He highlighted his administration’s achievements over the past 10 months, including significant progress in agriculture, rural road construction, and land clearing to boost food production.
Aiyedatiwa also reaffirmed his commitment to improving security, healthcare, education, and youth empowerment. He noted his efforts to combat the “Japa” syndrome by increasing doctors’ salaries and allowances to retain medical professionals in the state.
APC leaders, including State Chairman Engr. Ade Adetimehin and campaign Director-General Hon. Abiola Makinde, echoed support for the governor, urging party members to safeguard their voter cards and mobilize at the grassroots level for a strong turnout on election day.
