In a bid to enhance peace and security in Kwara State, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), in collaboration with Hon. Tijani Kayode Ismail, hosted a sensitization and orientation session for community leaders and youths in Ifelodun, Offa, and Oyun Federal Constituency. The event, themed “Building a People of Peace,” took place at Idofian Town Hall and aimed to empower security agencies while promoting peace in the Constituency.
During the event, Hon. Ismail stressed the importance of vigilance and proactive measures in ensuring community safety. He encouraged participants to promptly report suspicious activities to the authorities and praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s federal government for its ongoing efforts to address national security challenges. He also commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s leadership and initiatives aimed at boosting security across Kwara State.
As part of his commitment to community welfare, Hon. Ismail donated motorcycles to security agencies to enhance their mobility, particularly in rural areas. He further reiterated his dedication to supporting the region, recalling his past contributions, including distributing palliatives, installing solar street lights, and providing tractors to farmers.
In a significant gesture, Hon. Ismail also donated three vehicles: an SUV Ford to a traditional ruler, a Benz space bus, and a saloon Peugeot wagon, benefiting three individuals in the community. The recipients expressed heartfelt gratitude for his generosity and ongoing commitment to fostering peace and security in Kwara South.
Prince Sunday Adeniran Fagbemi, Chairman of APC Kwara State, who welcomed attendees, emphasized the critical role of peace and security in societal progress. He urged traditional rulers to collaborate with the government and security agencies in tackling insecurity within their communities.
Alhaji Dare AbdulGaniyu, Director of NOA Kwara State, delivered a goodwill message underscoring the significance of peace in promoting justice, equality, and understanding. He called for the adoption of a culture of peace, education, and tolerance to foster economic growth and emotional well-being.
The event attracted a wide array of participants, including traditional rulers, market women, and youth from across the local governments in Kwara South.
