The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Ondo State Governorship Election, Mr. Agboola Ajayi, has expressed dissatisfaction with the election process in Kiribo, Ese-Odo Local Government Area. Speaking after voting at Unit 4, Ward 2, Idumado in Kiribo at 10:45 a.m., Ajayi highlighted challenges with the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), which he said took over 10 minutes to capture his details.
Ajayi described the election as flawed, citing widespread complaints about the BVAS and allegations of vote-buying. He also criticized the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), accusing the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Barr. Oluwatoyin Babalola, of bias and calling for her removal.
“If INEC cannot successfully organize an election in one state, it raises concerns about the country’s electoral process. The system is compromised, and this exercise is shameful,” Ajayi stated.
The former deputy governor further called for the resignation of INEC Chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, saying, “If he cannot deliver credible elections, he should step down. Nigerians are not happy with this situation.”
