In a ceremony held in Ilorin, Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central in the National Assembly, celebrated 200 beneficiaries of his university scholarship program. Themed “Securing the Future Today,” the event brought together distinguished personalities and community leaders from across the district.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Senator Mustapha emphasized the value of academic excellence and urged them to remain committed to their studies while contributing positively to their communities. “You are the future governors, senators, ministers, and professors of Kwara State,” he remarked, inspiring the students to aim for leadership roles.
The Senator also announced plans to expand the scholarship initiative, revealing that free WAEC, NECO, and JAMB forms would be distributed in 2025 to support more students in accessing higher education. He assured attendees that the program would accommodate more beneficiaries in the coming year.
The event was chaired by Professor Shuaibu Oba AbdulRaheem, who praised Senator Mustapha’s commitment to human capital development. Other notable attendees included Professor Binta Sulyman, Chairperson of the Education Committee of the Saliu Mustapha Foundation, and Professor AbdulRasheed Na’Allah, Former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja.
The Saliu Mustapha Foundation, which has been at the forefront of youth empowerment in Kwara Central, continues to impact lives through its initiatives. These include sponsoring students to university level, providing free exam forms, and supporting small businesses and entrepreneurs.
