Distinquished Senator Khairat is a name that carries weight, not just in politics, but in the lives of many young women in politics who now believe they, too, can lead and succeed. Her journey from Kwara to becoming the first female Senator from the Federal Capital Territory remains a story of courage and purpose. In a time when it wasn’t common to see women in such roles, she stepped forward and paved the way.
She has never stopped standing for the women in politics. Her voice has consistently projected the need for women to take up space in places where decisions are made. Even more than her public achievements, it is the private moments of mentorship and encouragement that truly show her strength. She listens, she advises, and she leads with sincerity, not for applause but for the next generation.
I would say it is a privilege to come in contact with Abdulrazaq ‘s family.
Across communities in Kwara and beyond, I’ve seen young women mention her name with admiration. Not because she’s famous, but because they see themselves in her, a woman who rose with grace, fought for what she believed in, and never forgot those coming behind her.
On this special day, I celebrate a woman who has not only made history but continues to guide it. May God grant her peace, strength, and many more years to keep doing what she does best , lifting others.
Happy Birthday, Distinguished Senator Khairat AbdulRazaq-Gwadabe. Your legacy lives.
