KADUNA — A tragic incident occurred in the Rafin Guza area of Kawo, Kaduna, on the evening of June 9, 2025, around 8:00 p.m., resulting in the death of a soldier.
According to preliminary reports, a police officer came under attack by suspected hoodlums and sustained stab wounds. Amid the confusion, the officer discharged his firearm, fatally shooting a soldier who was mistakenly identified as one of the assailants.
Both men were immediately rushed to the hospital, where the soldier was later confirmed dead.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Rafin Guza confirmed the incident. Authorities say investigations are ongoing, and further details will be provided as they emerge.
