The new student hostels at the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, are nearing completion, as part of the state government’s broader efforts to improve infrastructure in tertiary institutions.
The buildings, which have already been roofed, are expected to be handed over to the school management in the coming weeks. The project is aimed at replacing the dilapidated hostel blocks inherited by the current administration.
According to the state government, the new facilities will feature modern amenities, including beds, wardrobes, reading tables, and student mattresses — all designed to ensure a more comfortable and conducive learning environment.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s administration has made student welfare a key priority, particularly in state-owned institutions. The new hostels are one of several ongoing projects targeting the rehabilitation and reconstruction of critical infrastructure across Kwara’s education sector.
The abandoned hostels on campus, which had become uninhabitable, are also being refurbished under the same intervention.
Olayinka Fafoluyi, Senior Special Assistant on New Media to the Governor, confirmed the development and reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to delivering safe and decent accommodations for students.
