The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has apologized for a previous statement in which he suggested that Christians who do not pay tithes might not make it to heaven. Adeboye addressed the matter during the ongoing RCCG Youth Convention at the Redemption City, located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State. In his apology, Adeboye admitted that his earlier comment, which implied tithing was a requirement for entering heaven, was a “mistake.” He clarified that the Bible emphasizes living peacefully and with holiness as the true prerequisites for salvation. “I apologize for…

Namo explained that following the union’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, held between August 17 and 18, a 21-day ultimatum was issued to the government. However, he noted that none of the agreements had been fulfilled. “After the 21-day ultimatum expired, we issued another 14-day notice, which began on September 23. If…

Central to these reforms is the Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Bill, which seeks to abolish the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) and replace it with a new agency, the Nigeria Revenue Service. This new body would be responsible for assessing, collecting, and managing government revenue, with the goal of streamlining operations and reducing tax-related disputes. Additionally, the president has submitted the Nigeria Tax Bill 2024, which aims to establish a comprehensive framework for taxation. The Tax Administration Bill is also part of the package,…
By Abdulbāsit Mahmood Adewole Esq. In moments of hardship and adversity, it is a fundamental principle in Islam for individuals to turn inward, evaluating their own conduct and assessing the condition of their society. The challenges faced by a nation are often a reflection of the collective behavior of its populace before Allah and towards fellow humans. In Surah Hud, Verse 117: وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ لِيُهْلِكَ الْقُرَىٰ بِظُلْمٍ وَأَهْلُهَا مُصْلِحُونَ “And your Lord would never destroy the towns wrongfully, while their people were doers of good.” In the above verse, Allah informs that he does not destroy any town, except…

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has supplied 48.6 million barrels of crude oil to the Dangote Petroleum Refinery over the past 10 months. Monthly allocations ranged from 3.0 million to 11.7 million barrels. However, government estimates for the second quarter of 2024 set the daily crude requirement for all Nigerian refineries at 597,700…

Sowore also questioned whether the government deserved…
The constant rise in fuel prices across Nigeria is taking a heavy toll on citizens, with the latest increase pushing many workers to either resign from their jobs or resort to sleeping at their workplaces to manage skyrocketing transportation costs. In 2023 alone, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited has adjusted petrol prices twice, raising them from N617 to N855 and N950 in Lagos, with prices exceeding N1,000 in other states. These increases have had a ripple effect, driving up market prices and transportation costs, leaving many Nigerians struggling to cope. For some workers, the burden has become unbearable. Mr.…
