Controversial Nigerian cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has reportedly left Nigeria just days after his release by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). In videos shared on his Instagram story on Monday morning, Bobrisky revealed he was traveling first-class, though he did not disclose his destination.
“See you soon, Nigeria. This girl bought a first-class ticket three times; that’s over 30 million. Raise the bar for this girl,” he boasted. He also humorously commented on his passport photo, saying, “That passport disfigured my picture.”
Bobrisky’s departure follows a recent series of events involving his run-ins with the EFCC. Last Thursday night, he was reportedly removed from an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos while attempting to travel to London. He claimed to have sustained injuries during the incident and shared updates with his followers on social media.
After the altercation, Bobrisky was reportedly taken to the EFCC headquarters in Abuja, where he faced questioning over allegations of bribing officials with N15 million to dismiss money laundering charges. He was subsequently released on bail on Saturday, allegedly denying the bribery claims in his statement to the commission.
The social media influencer’s legal challenges began in April 2024, when he was sentenced to six months in prison for naira abuse. However, reports indicate he spent only three weeks at Kirikiri Prison before being discreetly moved to an undisclosed private location. In September, his situation intensified when a recording surfaced, allegedly capturing him discussing bribes with EFCC officials.
