Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has been dealt a devastating blow with the loss of his eldest son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi, in a fatal car accident, just a day after the passing of his mother, Hajiya Maryam Namadi.
According to eyewitnesses, Abdulwahab’s vehicle lost control while driving from Kafin Hausa to Dutse, resulting in a fatal crash. His friends, who were with him in the vehicle, sustained injuries and are currently receiving treatment at Dutse General Hospital.
The governor’s family and the entire state are in mourning, with residents trooping to the governor’s residence to offer condolences. A family friend described Abdulwahab as a “humble and responsible young man with a promising future.”
The Jigawa State government has released a statement expressing their condolences, saying, “We mourn with His Excellency and his family. This is indeed a painful moment for all of us in Jigawa State. May Allah grant the deceased Aljannah Firdaus.”
Funeral prayers for Abdulwahab were held at the Kafin Hausa Central Mosque, attended by top government officials, traditional rulers, and community leaders.
