The Ekiti State Government has reiterated its dedication to improving educational access and outcomes, ensuring a brighter future for upcoming generations. According to Commissioner for Information Taiwo Olatunbosun, the government is committed to its free and compulsory education program up to Senior Secondary School, providing adequate facilities and modern teaching materials.
The government’s interventions aim to boost school enrollment, support disadvantaged students, promote academic achievement, and minimize out-of-school children. Olatunbosun emphasized that every child, regardless of background, deserves access to quality education at no cost.
The Oyebanji-led administration has impacted 203 public secondary schools through construction, renovation, and provision of learning tools, as well as running grants for smooth operation. The government also provides financial support for indigent students and addresses special needs requirements.
In addition to structural upgrades, the government prioritizes science and technology by procuring cutting-edge laboratory equipment and ICT tools. This prepares students for future challenges, providing access to state-of-the-art laboratories and modern computer systems for science, technology, and innovation.
