The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced plans to honour several state governors for their outstanding contributions to public service at the 2024 Nigeria Govtech Conference and Awards. The event, organized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), will take place on October 10 in Abuja.
Governors being honoured include Uba Sani of Kaduna State, Peter Mbah of Enugu, Mohammed Bago of Niger, Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, and Godwin Obaseki of Edo State. These individuals have been recognized for their innovative use of technology to improve public service delivery and governance.
Dr. Dasuki Arabi, the Director General of BPSR, stated that the awards aim to celebrate and encourage the adoption of technology in governance, which has become increasingly important in enhancing transparency, efficiency, and service delivery. The event is expected to bring together participants from across Nigeria and beyond, providing a platform for sharing best practices and innovations in public service.
The Nigeria Govtech Conference and Awards are part of a broader effort to promote the use of technology in governance and to recognize the efforts of those who have successfully implemented tech-driven solutions to address public sector challenges.
