Nigerian content creator Ganiyu Kehinde Morufu, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has expressed anger over a song released by controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, about his troubled marriage.
The controversy began after Lande and his estranged wife, Dara, were caught in an infidelity scandal. Lande alleged that aside from his colleague Baba Tee, who admitted to having a brief affair with his wife, he had eight more videos of other men involved with her.
Portable, known for capitalizing on trending issues, dropped a song referencing the scandal, a move that infuriated Lande. In a video posted on social media Tuesday, the skit maker warned the singer, reminding him of his own past marital woes.
“Portable, I see all the nonsense you are doing. You are using my life story to sing. You will pay for it. When they slept with one of your wives the other time, you were crying all over the internet. Don’t worry, you will pay for it,” Lande fumed.
The feud has sparked mixed reactions online. While some found humor in the situation, others criticized Lande for making his private issues public. Social media users also teased that his marital woes had now become an “album,” referencing Portable’s tendency to sing about trending topics.
Some commenters advised Lande to handle his problems privately in the future, arguing that once personal matters are brought to social media, they become fair game for public discourse.
