Oluwatoyin Luqman Bolakale, the Ilorin-born publisher of the popular online news platform _Satcom News_, has named his first son after the Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, Saliu Mustapha.
The publisher, who tied the knot last year in an elaborate wedding ceremony attended by many dignitaries, including Senator Mustapha, welcomed his first child last week in Abuja. The naming ceremony took place at Isale Akanni Compound, Edun in Ilorin South Local Government Area, with close family, friends, and well-wishers in attendance.
During the ceremony, Islamic clerics revealed the child’s name as Saliu Arif Atanda Olanrewaju Olatunji Oluwatoyin, among other names. The clerics offered prayers for the newborn, invoking blessings and abundance for the child to follow in the noble footsteps of his namesake, Senator Saliu Mustapha.
In a brief remark, the elated father, Mr. Oluwatoyin, expressed that his decision to name his son after Senator Mustapha was driven by the Senator’s exemplary leadership and admirable qualities. He described the Senator as a role model, adding that he hoped his child would grow to emulate such an outstanding figure.
“My choice of name was influenced by the Senator’s admirable personality. He’s a leader I deeply respect, and it is a great honor for me to name my son after him,” Mr. Oluwatoyin remarked.
He also noted that the naming was symbolic, representing a gesture of appreciation for Senator Mustapha’s continued positive influence in his life.
“This is my way of saying thank you to the Turaki of Ilorin for his outstanding leadership and the many ways he continues to inspire me. I am grateful for his blessings on this special occasion, and I look forward to sharing more moments of joy with him now and in the future,” Oluwatoyin added.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for Senator Mustapha, with attendees wishing him more success and divine favor in his leadership journey.
