The International Vocational Technical and Entrepreneurship College (IVTEC), Ajase Ipo, has matriculated 324 students during its 13th Matriculation Ceremony. The event took place at the College auditorium in Ajase Ipo, Irepodun Local Government Area, Kwara State.
Addressing the newly matriculated students, the Rector of the College, Dr. Yaru S. Salihu, urged them to adhere strictly to the institution’s rules and regulations, warning that any violation could result in severe penalties, including expulsion.
Dr. Yaru highlighted the different categories of students in this batch, including the seventh cohort of the Youth Empowerment and Employment Generation Scheme (YEEGS) beneficiaries, the sixth batch of the Artisan Upskill Training, participants of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Skill Up Artisan Programme, and direct applicants.
The Rector praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his unwavering support towards education and human capital development in the state, particularly his commitment to empowering vulnerable Kwara youth through the Youth Empowerment and Employment Generation Scheme. This initiative, sponsored by the Kwara State Government, aims to provide first-level skills training in various trades to youths aged 18 to 35, equipping them to become self-reliant and job creators.
The matriculating students expressed their gratitude to the state government and Governor AbdulRazaq for the opportunity to acquire entrepreneurial and vocational skills that will enable them to become job creators in their communities.
A key moment of the ceremony was the administration of the matriculation oath to the students by the College Registrar, Mr. Lateef Lawal.
