Kwara-born Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Lanre Oluwatoyin has been appointed as the Chief of Defence Space Administration as part of a major redeployment of senior officers within the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), approved by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar. This reshuffle is aimed at enhancing operational flexibility, introducing fresh perspectives, and optimizing leadership capabilities. Several other senior officers were affected, including AVM Olasunkanmi Abidoye, now Chief of Standards and Evaluation at NAF Headquarters, and AVM Adeniyi Amesinlola, who has been appointed Chief of Transformation and Innovation.
Additionally, AVM Iboro Etukudo is now the Chief of Policy and Plans, AVM Francis Edosa is Chief of Training and Operations, and AVM Abubakar Adamu has taken up the role of Group Managing Director of NAFIL Group. Other notable appointments include AVM Dalhat Ladan as Chief of Air Intelligence, AVM Suleiman Usman as Chief of Communication and Information Systems, and AVM Ibikunle Daramola, now the Chief of Civil-Military Relations. While congratulating the appointees, Air Marshal Abubakar emphasized that the redeployment aims to enhance strategic flexibility and resource optimization to address the country’s current security challenges more effectively.
