Fafoluyi Olayinka Michael, media aide to Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has emerged as the Overall Best Graduating Student in Print Journalism at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism (NIJ), Lagos.
Fafoluyi, popularly known in media circles as ‘Solace,’ was honoured during NIJ’s 7th convocation ceremony held in Ogba, where he received a special plaque from veteran journalist and former Ogun State governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba.
A committed journalist and new media strategist, Fafoluyi had previously founded a news platform focused on compelling human-interest stories, earning recognition for his fearless, people-driven reporting.
In a double dose of academic success, the governor’s aide also recently completed a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) at the University of Ilorin. His degree was officially approved by the institution’s Senate on April 3, 2025.
The twin achievements—coming from two respected Nigerian institutions—highlight Fafoluyi’s pursuit of excellence in both journalism and public service. His feat has drawn accolades from colleagues, political figures, and media professionals nationwide, many of whom commended his ability to balance government duties with academic ambition.
Observers say Fafoluyi’s story is a testament to the power of resilience, focus, and lifelong learning in a fast-changing media and political landscape.
