The Kwara State Government has reinforced its commitment to quality healthcare by installing a 10KVA and 5KVA solar inverter system at the Cottage Hospital in Ajase-Ipo, ensuring round-the-clock electricity supply.
Dr. Abdulraheem Malik, Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Hospitals Management Board (KW-HMB), explained that the 5KVA inverter serves as a backup power source for the operating theatre, maternity ward, and laboratory, while the 10KVA system powers the entire hospital, including wards, offices, and security lighting at night.
Malik emphasized that this initiative will significantly enhance healthcare delivery by providing uninterrupted services to patients and improving the work environment for medical personnel. He urged hospital staff to take proper care of the equipment to ensure its longevity.
The Kwara State Government has been rolling out similar solar power installations across multiple hospitals, with ongoing efforts to extend 24-hour electricity supply to all state healthcare facilities.
