The Kwara State Government has partnered with the Nigerian Army to train young people in various skills and create job opportunities.
The State Commissioner for Youth Development, Amb. Ndanusa Usman Shehu, announced this during a visit to the Nigerian Army’s 22 Armored Brigade, Sobi Barracks, Ilorin. He explained that the collaboration would help youths acquire skills in security, technology, agriculture, and leadership.
He praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for supporting youth development and creating opportunities for them.
“This program will provide thousands of young people with vocational training and job opportunities to secure their future,” Shehu said.
Dr. Funmilola Ajide, Director of Personnel, Finance, and Supply at the ministry, noted that young people need proper guidance and training to succeed.
Brig. General Ezra Barkins, Commander of Sobi Barracks, welcomed the initiative, saying the army is ready to support the government in training disciplined and responsible youths.
The Commissioner was accompanied by Dr. Funmilola Ajide, Alh. Abdulsalam Akeem, Mr. Sikiru Aminu, Mr. Alhassan Mohammed, Adekunle James, Akanbi Adeola, and Esther Abort, among others.
