The inaugural Tech Awareness Fest 1.0 in Lagos drew industry leaders, students, and tech enthusiasts eager to explore the future of emerging technologies. Organized by the Prime Innovation Institute of Technology (PIIT), the festival, themed “Unlocking Innovation, Inspiring Tomorrow,” aimed to equip Nigerian youth with critical digital skills.
PIIT Chairman Joe Ebinum announced that the event would become an annual initiative to bridge Nigeria’s digital divide. He stressed the need for collaboration between institutions and the government to unlock opportunities in fields such as software engineering, cybersecurity, AI, networking, and robotics.
Tech expert Kobi Agwu highlighted the booming global tech industry, projected to reach ₦5 trillion this year, while leadership coach Daniel Adeniyi warned that AI mastery is now crucial for future success. PIIT Executive Director Kate Ebinum reinforced this, declaring that technology is no longer optional but a necessity for career growth and national progress.
The festival left attendees inspired, igniting a call for young Nigerians to embrace technology and secure their place in the digital revolution.
