In an insightful appearance on KwaraTV’s Cliqchat, Shukurat Temitope Ibrahim, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member currently serving in Gombe State, passionately outlined her plans for an impactful community development project. Shukurat, who previously worked at KwaraTV before her service year, leveraged the platform to discuss her commitment to education and her vision for transforming the lives of children in Gombe State.
During the virtual interview, Shukurat highlighted education as a critical area in need of attention in the state. She emphasized that her project aligns with the NYSC mandate of giving back to host communities, stating, “This initiative is my way of equipping Gombe’s children with the resources they need to excel academically and grow personally.”
Although Shukurat currently serves as the Girl Child Education Ambassador for Gombe State, she clarified that the project stems from her personal drive as an NYSC member dedicated to community development. “This is not tied to my ambassadorship role,” she said. “I followed all NYSC protocols to secure approval for this project, and it’s my way of leaving a positive mark during my service year.”
Her project focuses on renovating the toilets at Kamara Primary School, distributing essential school supplies, and providing school sandals to students in need. Shukurat also appealed to well-meaning individuals, philanthropists, and organizations to support her efforts in creating a brighter future for Gombe’s young learners.
Shukurat expressed profound gratitude to the General Manager of KwaraTV, Mr. Ayobami Akanbi, and the station’s management team for amplifying her initiative and giving her a platform to inspire others. “Their support has been instrumental in raising awareness for this project,” she said.
Her passion and dedication to making a difference underscore the vital role of youth in addressing societal challenges and fostering development in underserved communities.
