Ogun State is in mourning following the death of Chief (Mrs) Adebisi Edionseri, affectionately known as ‘Cash Madam,’ who passed away at 89 after a brief illness.
Governor Dapo Abiodun expressed profound sorrow over her passing, describing her as a trailblazing entrepreneur whose legacy has inspired generations since the 1970s. In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the governor lauded Edionseri’s immense contributions to Ogun State, calling her a beacon of resilience, ambition, and success.
“On behalf of myself and the people of Ogun State, I extend our deepest condolences to the family of Alhaja (Chief) Adebisi Edionseri. Her passing is a tremendous loss, but her influence as a business pioneer and social figure will continue to resonate for years to come,” Abiodun stated.
The Edionseri family, in a statement signed by Dr. Adebayo Adebowale, confirmed her passing and highlighted her life as a radiant example of grace, dignity, and unwavering faith. “She instilled the values of love, resilience, and faith in Allah, leaving behind a legacy that will endure,” Adebowale remarked.
The funeral is scheduled to be held according to Islamic rites on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 4 pm at her residence in Abeokuta GRA.
