In a stunning development that has taken the football world by storm, Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker, has agreed to join Galatasaray on a loan deal from his current club, Napoli.
The move, confirmed by prominent football journalist Fabrizo Romano, will see Osimhen play for Galatasaray until June 2025 on a loan deal worth €9 to 10 million in salary, with Napoli retaining the right to extend Osimhen’s contract until 2027.
However, while some fans are excited to see Osimhen make his debut in the Turkish Super Lig, others have voiced concern about the lack of a buy option or obligation in the loan deal. This suggests that Galatasaray will not be obliged to purchase Osimhen at the end of the loan period, and he could return to Napoli.
The move comes as a surprise to many, as Osimhen had been widely expected to remain with Napoli and continue his promising form from last season, where he scored 18 goals in 32 appearances.
