The leadership of the Osun Central Senatorial District of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has praised party chieftain Mr. Ibraheem Adekunle for his generous donation of 3,000 bags of rice to party members in the district. The palliatives, aimed at mitigating the impact of the harsh economy, were distributed to members across the 10 local government areas of Osun Central.
The donation was received on Saturday at the PDP State Secretariat in Osogbo by the Osun Central Senatorial Youth Leader, Lukman Akintunde, and PDP Chairman of Olorunda Local Government, Mr. Amzat Ademola. The food items are intended to provide relief for party members grappling with economic difficulties, particularly following the removal of the petrol subsidy by the Federal Government.
During the presentation, South West Zonal PDP Youth Leader Mr. Seyi Bamidele commended Adekunle for stepping up to support the people despite being a recent addition to the party. Bamidele noted that Adekunle’s act was driven by his desire to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians during this economic crisis.
Adekunle expressed his commitment to doing more for the people of Osun State, calling on other well-meaning members of the party to support Governor Ademola Adeleke’s efforts in combating rising poverty caused by increasing fuel prices.
“The current economic realities make it crucial for those who are able to assist the government in addressing the needs of the people. This donation is in support of Governor Ademola Adeleke, who has been working tirelessly for the people. I urge others who have the capacity to come forward and contribute to providing palliatives,” Adekunle said.
He further emphasized that the 3,000 bags of rice would be distributed to all wards in the Osun Central Senatorial District, ensuring that party members across the region benefit from the relief.
In response, Osun Central PDP Youth Leader Akintunde commended Adekunle’s initiative and confirmed that the food items would be distributed fairly across all wards in the district, expressing gratitude for the timely intervention.
