Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has confidently asserted that the Premium Motor Spirit produced by Dangote Refinery will meet global standards, matching the quality of products in the United States and beyond. Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday, Dangote made this statement as the refinery commenced production of its first petrol from its 650,000 barrels per day facility.
‘The quality of our product will be unparalleled, ensuring no engine issues, which have been a common problem. We guarantee that our quality will match the best in the world, including the US,’ Dangote emphasized.
Once the modalities with the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) are finalized, the product will be released into the market. Dangote expressed his vision for the refinery’s impact on the economy:
‘Our refinery will revitalize industry and manufacturing, enabling real import substitution. This will conserve foreign exchange, earn foreign exchange, stabilize the naira, and ultimately reduce inflation and the cost of living.’
This development marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s oil industry, poised to transform the country’s economic landscape.
