The Oyo State chapter of the Child Protection Network (CPN) has distributed relief materials to 32 homes and organisations across Ibadan, in a bid to support vulnerable and less privileged children under their care.
Speaking during the exercise, State Coordinator of CPN, Dr. Rosemary Odigbo, appealed to well-meaning Nigerians and philanthropists to extend their generosity to disadvantaged children in society, emphasizing that such gestures help them live more meaningful lives.
She explained that the initiative reflects CPN’s core mission of uplifting vulnerable children through collective efforts. Dr. Odigbo also acknowledged BoxAid Global as a vital partner in the initiative, noting the organisation’s significant contributions to supporting communities in dire need.
Citing a success story, Dr. Odigbo shared the inspiring case of Ope, a child whose life has been transformed through sustained medical care provided by BoxAid. According to her, Ope’s journey illustrates the real impact of compassionate and consistent intervention.
Items distributed to the beneficiary homes included radios, televisions, clothes, shoes, bags, and other essential household materials.
Dr. Odigbo urged the recipients to use the items responsibly for the benefit of the children in their care. She expressed confidence that the gesture would help alleviate some of the challenges faced in the various homes.
“There are many individuals in this country and state with the means to help,” she said. “I encourage them to partner with organisations like CPN to improve the lives of vulnerable children.”
