A group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has thrown its weight behind Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s potential presidential bid in 2027. The Progressive Youth for Makinde’s Presidency 2027 (PYMP2027) cited Makinde’s leadership abilities and the need for national renewal as reasons for their support.
According to Christopher Odianarewo, the group’s national secretary and head of media, Makinde’s track record in Oyo State makes him an ideal candidate. “Our research has led us to H.E. Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, and we firmly believe he is the right choice,” Odianarewo said.
The group’s support is driven by a desire to address Nigeria’s pressing challenges, including economic instability, insecurity, and a failing education system. They believe Makinde’s presidency would bring much-needed renewal, uniting Nigerians across party lines, ethnicities, and religions.
As the 2027 presidential election approaches, Makinde’s potential candidacy is likely to generate significant interest and debate within Nigeria’s political landscape.
