Nigeria’s leading camera gear and equipment brand, SamdechNG, took its commitment to creative empowerment a step further by hosting a high-impact training event, Creators Workshop 101, which brought together over 60 young content creators in Lagos for a full day of practical learning and digital storytelling.
Held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at Digiverse Studios, Onipanu,Lagos, the free workshop was delivered in partnership with TheKreativo Consultancy & Media Agency, Digiverse Studios, and Canon Nigeria.
Facilitators included acclaimed filmmaker and media trainer Adebisi Peters, alongside renowned tech educator KaganTech, who guided participants through dynamic sessions on interview framing, lighting for content, sound design, podcast development, and content monetisation strategies.
“Our brand isn’t just about selling top-tier gear. We’re about building a thriving community of empowered storytellers,” said Gabriel Chikodi Samuel, Managing Director, SamdechNG. “Workshops like this are one of the many ways we’re investing directly in the future of the Nigerian creative industry.”
Participants walked away with new knowledge, practical skills, and in many cases, professional gear.The event also featured giveaways of professional gear to help boost creators’ production quality.
“I wasn’t going to miss this for anything,” said participant Chukwuma Armstrong, who won a Godox SL60 and RGB light. “Lighting has always been a challenge, but now my content will be 10 times better.”
Another attendee, Chiamaka Blessing, shared, “As a Christian content creator, the F12 gimbal and RGB light I received will help me tell better stories about faith, society, and life.”
In a landscape where thousands of emerging creators work with limited resources, SamdechNG is stepping in to bridge the gap—not just by providing quality tools but also by facilitating education, mentorship, and access.
