In a continued show of commitment to inclusivity and the welfare of his constituents, Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, has commenced the distribution of assorted Christmas food items to over 5,000 Christian faithful in his constituency.
The initiative, part of the Senator’s annual tradition, builds on his efforts last year, when over 3,000 families—including widows, less-privileged individuals, and church leaders—received food items such as rice, vegetable oil, and chicken during the festive season.
Speaking on the distribution plans, project coordinator Elder Julius Balogun explained that the beneficiaries were chosen after thorough consultations with stakeholders across the district. “This is not just an act of charity; it is a statement of Senator Mustapha’s commitment to the people of Kwara Central, irrespective of their socio-cultural, political, or religious affiliations. He is not called the ‘Senator for All’ for nothing,” Balogun remarked.
On behalf of Senator Mustapha, Balogun extended warm Christmas wishes to all Christians in Kwara Central and beyond. “We hope this gesture brings joy and fulfillment to everyone during this festive season,” he added.
Earlier this month, Senator Mustapha supported the Annual CAN Christmas Carol in Kwara State by providing resources to facilitate the event. During the carol, the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kwara State, Rev. Samuel Adewole, lauded the Senator’s consistent support for the Christian community.
“Senator Saliu Mustapha is a rare leader whose actions reflect his words,” Rev. Adewole said. “His generosity transcends religious and ethnic boundaries, and we are grateful for his continued support. I urge the congregation to pray for him so that God will continue to sustain him in his leadership journey.”
This year’s distribution further cements Senator Mustapha’s reputation as a leader who prioritizes the welfare of all his constituents, fostering unity and harmony in Kwara Central.
