Basheer Luqman, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Honourable Muktar Tolani Shagaya, member representing Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency, has been awarded the prestigious Leadership Award at the 2024 PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship held in Ilorin.
The fellowship, which spans over three impactful weeks, was organized by Image Merchant Promotions Limited, the parent company of PRNigeria. The initiative was aimed at training and equipping young communication professionals drawn from diverse backgrounds across the country.
Basheer Luqman emerged as the second-best fellow in the cohort, distinguishing himself with his exemplary leadership skills throughout the program. His recognition as the *Most Outstanding Fellow* who demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities sets him apart in the highly competitive fellowship.
Speaking after receiving the award, Basheer expressed his gratitude, saying, “Wherever I go, I don’t strive just to be the best, but I try to exhibit leadership qualities. During the course of the fellowship, I volunteered to coordinate my colleagues, serve as an intermediary with the organizers, and lead the team without passing the buck. I am grateful for this recognition and look forward to a more productive journey ahead.”
He also extended his appreciation to PRNigeria for organizing the fellowship, while giving special thanks to his principal, Honourable Muktar Tolani Shagaya, for his unwavering support and encouragement throughout his professional journey.
The fellowship, regarded as a significant initiative for young communication professionals, continues to inspire and prepare a new generation of leaders in public relations, journalism, and strategic communications across Nigeria.
