At the 59th Annual National Conference of the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU), Alhaji Sherif Shagaya, Chairman of the Salman Shagaya Foundation, announced a generous donation of ₦20 million to support the union’s developmental initiatives.
The philanthropic gesture was further enhanced by a ₦5 million pledge from Honourable Muktar Tolani Shagaya, who represents Ilorin West/Asa Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives.
Held at the Emir’s Palace in Ilorin, the event brought together sons and daughters of the Emirate, with notable attendance by the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq CON, and other dignitaries.
Alhaji Sherif Shagaya emphasized that the donation was a tribute to Governor Abdulrazaq’s dedication to empowering Kwarans and fostering development. “This is our way of supporting the Governor’s vision and contributing to the growth of the Emirate,” he said.
In his address, delivered by the Baloguns, the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR, lauded the Shagaya family for their unwavering philanthropy and prayed for their continued success.
The conference highlighted the unity and progressiveness of the Ilorin Emirate, with renewed calls for collaborative efforts to advance the community’s development.
