Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali is mourning the loss of his mother, who passed away on New Year’s Day. The tragic news comes just weeks after the death of his father in November 2024, marking a particularly challenging period for the 27-year-old player.
Nwabali, who plays for Chippa United in South Africa’s Premier Soccer League, shared his grief on social media, posting, “RIP mom, worst year of my life already.” The football community has rallied around him, offering support and condolences during this difficult time.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) also extended its sympathies to Nwabali, stating, “Our heartfelt condolences to Stanley Nwabali on the loss of his mother. Stay strong, Stanley. Sending you strength and support during this difficult time. You are not alone; we are all with you.”
