President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated 18-year-old Kwara-born badminton player, Eniola Mariam Bolaji, on her historic achievement at the Paris 2024 Paralympics.
Bolaji, who won bronze in the women’s Para-badminton SL3 event on Monday, made history as the first African athlete to secure a medal in the sport at the Games.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, President Tinubu praised Bolaji for her courage and resilience, which she demonstrated in overcoming challenges to bring home Nigeria’s first medal at the Games.
The President expressed gratitude to the young athlete for making the nation proud, describing her as a shining example of the resourcefulness, talent, and determination of Nigeria’s youth.
He encouraged Bolaji to continue striving for excellence, noting that her success is a powerful testament to the immense potential of Nigerian youths.

“Eighteen-year-old Eniola clinched bronze in the women’s Para-badminton SL3 at the Paris Paralympics on Monday.
“President Tinubu commends Bolaji for her courage and resilience, which she demonstrated against all odds to secure Nigeria’s first medal at the Games.
“The President thanks the young athlete for making the nation proud and describes her as a fine example of the resourcefulness, talent, and grit of Nigeria’s youths.
“President Tinubu enjoins Bolaji not to relent but to keep striving for success,” the statement said.
