President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s resolve to eliminate security threats and violent crimes in Nigeria. He also lauded the Armed Forces for their successful hosting of the 2nd African Military Games in Abuja.
Speaking at the closing ceremony held on Saturday night at the Moshood Agboola Stadium, Tinubu—represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima—praised the military for fostering unity and camaraderie across the African continent.
According to Tinubu, the event went beyond athletic competition, serving as a platform for collaboration and innovation in addressing shared challenges. *”The games we have witnessed are a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we unite—not just as soldiers, but as guardians of a shared destiny. This platform offers opportunities to exchange ideas and explore innovative solutions to our challenges,”* he stated.
Tinubu emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration, adding that such events enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of participants. As Chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), he pledged to pursue stabilizing solutions across the continent, highlighting the need for stronger ties and camaraderie among nations.
The President commended the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, and OSMA President, Major General Abdullahi Maikano, for their leadership and dedication to the success of the event. He also applauded the sportsmanship and professionalism displayed by delegates from participating countries, noting their dual expertise as both military personnel and athletes.
