President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in seven newly appointed ministers in a ceremony held at the State House Chambers, Abuja, on Monday, November 4. The event marks a significant step in the administration’s efforts to address Nigeria’s pressing economic and social challenges.
The newly appointed ministers, who were confirmed by the Senate last week, include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment, and Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Other appointees are Dr. Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Idi Mukhtar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.
The swearing-in ceremony was attended by members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), family members of the new ministers, and other dignitaries. President Tinubu urged the new ministers to view their roles as a commitment to national service and to work diligently towards the administration’s goals of economic recovery and stability.
This swearing-in follows a major cabinet reshuffle by President Tinubu, which saw the dismissal of five ministers and the reallocation of ten ministerial portfolios. The reshuffle is part of Tinubu’s strategy to realign his administration and strengthen the government’s commitment to addressing pressing socio-economic issues.
The new ministers are expected to immediately begin their roles and contribute to the administration’s efforts to tackle the nation’s challenges and drive development.
