Team Unilorin delivered an outstanding performance at the recently concluded FASU Games in Lagos, with three athletes achieving remarkable feats that brought pride to the university.
Sofiat Obanishola Arinola led the team to victory, securing a Gold medal in Badminton and setting the pace for the team’s success.
Ruqqayah Mustapha Kemi added to the accolades by winning Unilorin’s first Gold medal in the Discus event, followed by a Silver medal in Shot Put, showcasing her versatility in field events.
Alaba Ilaboya also made a significant impact, taking home a Gold medal in Javelin and a Silver medal in Shot Put, contributing to the team’s overall success.
Despite competing in just six events, Team Unilorin’s impressive tally of three Gold and two Silver medals secured them 14th place on the medal table. The athletes’ exceptional talent and determination were clearly evident throughout the competition.
