Social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has disclosed that he possesses additional incriminating evidence to support his claims regarding Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky. This comes after Bobrisky allegedly stated in a voice note that he served his sentence in a private apartment.
VeryDarkMan, in an Instagram post, announced that he would release another voice note involving a different individual, urging a comprehensive investigation into the matter. “I want a thorough investigation because the EFCC, the Comptroller General of Prisons, as well as Uncle Femi Falana and Falz, were mentioned. A deep investigation will reveal everything,” he stated.
The controversy arose after VeryDarkMan shared a voice note in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed that, following his conviction for the abuse of naira notes in April, his godfather, along with the Comptroller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, arranged for him to serve his six-month sentence in a private residence. Bobrisky also purportedly claimed that the rapper Falz and his father, human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi Falana, had offered to help him secure a Federal Government pardon for a fee of ₦10 million.
Falana, through his legal representatives, denied any involvement with Bobrisky and issued a 24-hour ultimatum to VeryDarkMan to retract the statement linking him to the incident. In a letter, Falana’s lawyer demanded a retraction and an apology, stating, “We wish to categorically assert that our client (Falana) has never, at any time, spoken to Bobrisky regarding his alleged pardon or any other matter.”
In response, VeryDarkMan clarified that he had no intention of defaming Falana and only raised questions about Bobrisky’s claims. “I did not defame Uncle Falana, and I never will. I respect him 100% not just for his position as a SAN, but for his advocacy work. I simply stated that I chose not to believe Bobrisky’s claims about Uncle Femi Falana being involved in a ₦10 million deal, and if it were true, I would be deeply disappointed,” he explained.
He further emphasized his call for a thorough investigation into the matter, adding, “If Bobrisky is lying, he should be held accountable for using someone as reputable as Uncle Falana in such a manner.”
In closing, VeryDarkMan reiterated his respect and admiration for Falana, stating, “Uncle Falana, I will never defame you, and I did not defame you. Thank you very much; I still love you. You are my daddy, and I love you 100%.”
