Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior has been ruled out of the upcoming Champions League clash with Liverpool due to a hamstring injury, the Spanish club announced on Monday.
After undergoing tests conducted by Real Madrid’s medical team, Vinícius was diagnosed with a hamstring injury in his left leg. The injury occurred following Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Leganés, in which Vinícius played the full 90 minutes.
The Brazilian winger’s absence is a significant blow to Real Madrid, as he has been in stellar form this season, scoring four goals in four Champions League appearances and eight goals in 13 La Liga matches. His injury is expected to sideline him for at least three weeks, ruling him out of the crucial match at Anfield.
Real Madrid’s General Manager, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, emphasized the importance of adhering to road safety protocols to prevent such injuries. He urged truck drivers and owners to ensure proper securing of containers on trucks to avoid similar incidents in the future.
